Our 10th Anniversary Concert
Sunday 17th August 2008 Byford
" A Journey Through The Years"
The 10th Year Concert held at the modern and popular SJ Centre at Mead Street in Byford was excellent and a great success. Feedback received has been positive and encouraging.
The Choir Uniforms looked great and the singing and harmonies were superb.
There were some great performances by the guest artists and small groups which were very well received by the capacity crowd.
The Theme of Journey Through The Years bought forward popular Classics like Simon & Garfunkels " Sounds Of Silence " and " Bridge Over Troubled Water " sung beautifully by the 32 strong choir raising hair on the arms and necks of some of the appreciative audience listening.
Other great classics such as Skye Boat Song, Danny Boy, Hey Look Me Over and You'll Never Walk Alone bought back many fond memories, as did the beautiful songs "Maria", and "Somewhere Theres A Place For Us" from West Side Story.
Other notable Classics like Something Told The Wild Geese, Going Home and Pannus Angelicus , added a touch of reverence and classical variety to the aptly organised and well sung repertoire.
Not to be left out The Junior Heritage Country Choir also put on a fine and most enjoyable performance of their songs which was enthusiastically received by the audience.
The two choirs together sung "Clap Your Hands" and "Thank You For The Music" to end off what was a delightful and enjoyable afternoon of music and community singing enjoyed by both Audience and Choir members and their most generous support people and sponsors.
